Description |
Upon conclusion of periodic reconciliation, eTranzact prompted us of a double debit to their account for their monthly tax remittance. Upon further review, we discovered that the file was approved by eTranzact on the 17th of August and processed successfully. Incidentally, the same file was pushed to ABC Banks again on the 18th of August 2020. |
Date |
17th & 18th August, 2020 |
Status |
Recovery has been done from eTranzact’s August tax remittance and the client advised accordingly. |
Root Cause |
A Unique Key constraint meant to forestall any duplication on the Hawk (FTP) DB table for captured files was not in place, as such the duplication occurred when said files were processed multiple times on different days by the application. |
Actions to Forestall Recurrence |
The Unique Key Constraint has been instated by the DB team and should forestall any future occurrence of such. |
Impact |
Distortion of tax remittance credit entries in the TSA account IFO eTranzact. |
Recommendation |
The Unique Key Constraint has been instated by the DB team and should forestall any future occurrence of such. |
