Device Requirements:

Windows PC Requirements 

  • Zoom desktop client, version 5.2.0 or higher
  • Windows 7, 8, and 10 (64-bit)
  • Supported processors

STEPS:

Zoom Desktop App

Option 1: Setting the virtual background when you are not joined to a meeting

1.    Click on the attached images at the bottom of the article, then right-click on the image and select Save Image.

2.    Sign in to the Zoom app with your corporate email address. (Click on Forgot? to reset your password if you are unable to sign in)

3.    Click on the display photo icon (or initials) at the top right hand corner. Click Settings.

4.    Click on Virtual Background in the Settings menu.

5.    Click on the + sign and select Add Image

6.    Browse to the location where the image is saved on your device and select and click Open.

7.    Uncheck the ‘I have a green screen’ checkbox at the bottom.

 

Option 2: Setting your virtual background while you are actively joined into a meeting.

1.    Click on the small up arrow beside the video icon and select ‘Choose Virtual Background’

 

2.    Click on the + sign and select Add Image

3.    Browse to the location where the image is saved on your device and select and click Open.

4.    Uncheck the ‘I have a green screen’ checkbox at the bottom.

 

 

iOS devices on Zoom

1.    Download the images attached at the bottom of the article.

2.    Sign in to the Zoom app on your iPhone or iPad. (Click on Forgot? to reset your password if you are unable to sign in)

3.    Tap Settings

 

4.    Tap Meetings

5.    Set ‘Keep Virtual Background For’ to All meetings

6.    Join or Start a meeting

7.    When connected to the meeting, tap the ellipses (…) for More options.

8.    Tap Virtual Background

9.    Tap the + icon and select the image which you previously saved.

 

Microsoft Teams Desktop App

1.    Click on the attached images at the bottom of the article, then right-click on the image and select Save Image. (Applies to users who have not yet saved the images on their device or PC)

2.    Join or Start a meeting and turn on your video.

3.     Click on the ellipses (…) and select ‘Apply Background Effects’

3. Click ‘+ Add new’

4. Browse to the location where you have saved the images on your PC. Select and click Apply

 

Tips for joining video meetings:


1.    Use bright even lighting. A room that is not well lit or too bright will affect the quality of your video display.

2.    Do not sit backing the light source.

 

    Below is an example of a video display with dim room lighting or when backing the light source.

 

 

3.    Do not wear clothing that is the same color as your virtual background

4.    If you have a video with a hazy appearance as shown below, click on the video icon, click Choose Virtual Background and ensure the ‘I have a green screen’ checkbox is unchecked.
